On 25th June 2017 / 16:30 at 9A1P contest location summer storm hit hard and showed nature’s greatest power. In just 5 minutes it destroyed main towers holding 10m & 15m stacks, 20m and another  15m antenna, small 10m antenna and 160m vertical, leaving 9A1P location with just one standing tower.

It’s hard for us to look at photos below but we are certain that 9A1P will be back bigger, stronger and smarter.

Thanks to all of our friends, visitors and contest rivals on kind words and support!!

    Terrible!
I know this feeling at 5-2-2012 During a heavy storm, with very exceptional gusts of 33 m/s (118.8 km/h, 108.2 ft/s, 73.8 mph) my 150ft rotating tower did not survive…
Building stronger, bigger and smatter is a very good start.
    Thoughts…

After removing all the debris from the collapsed 150ft rotating tower, it was time to rebuild and renew the design: https://youtu.be/Xvkpqo5jX8Y

    Saludos
    Karlos LU1FKR/ LT1F

It is a lesson for all of us. By the way just today 28 jun in the late afternoon a severe storm has hit my city, with eradicated trees and television antennas fallen in the streets. So checking ropes is a must, guys. Hope to see 9A1P up again soon! Good luck!

These are heartbreaking pictures. I’m so glad to hear your station in the contest.
I know from Ady S55M how much work it took to build your station. It’s good that no one got hurt and now you can rebuild the station better.
I personally as K1lz will help and also my Bulgarian team from LZ5R can help . We need you in all contests. We can’t aford to lose a good station!
